I want to know if it is possible to block parts of sites such as. Without effecting the whole site.
I used the modem firewall but it only appears to block the whole site.

There are several ad-blocking plugins for Firefox, and they can be configured to block any content so long as it can be specified. Try one of these https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... sort=&lup=

You can disable Flash if the moving content annoys you. My Flash plugin has an enable/disable button under Tools->Addons, so it can be enabled when you choose to view video or animated sites.

You can edit your /etc/hosts file (Linux or Mac) or %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows) file by adding lines like "0.0.0.0 ad.yieldmanager.com" to silently redirect (for example) all http://ad.yieldmanager.com/ to nowhere. View the source code of a page and search for "src=" or "http://" to locate the external advertisement content that you don't want to see displayed on a site.

Any questions just ask.
