I just dropped all my travel data into a mapping program and see all my journeys, place names, relative's homes and outings on top of a map, and a satellite image and all kinds of options I have not explored. All the geographical coordinates, time of day, speeds, altitudes, trip durations and the names that I saved while I was travelling can be displayed. It looks like I can also pop up photographs of places that other people shared.

I could get really nerdy with this, but suffice to say I can select a particular journey, a subset of place names and my own saved locations to make a custom map for my diary. And an altitude profile of the mountain drives.

It was amazingly easy - I copied the .GPX files off a Garmin Nuvi 250 and loaded them into the application Viking.

I just saw how to upload an (anonymous) image and link to it here.

This is my GPS trail (pink) on a map showing elevations (Open Street Map Cycling layer).
