I remember seeing a photo of a circle at a coastal area on the Yucatan Peninsula, possibly on the northwest or northeast corner of the peninsula. Is it some sort of Mayan sundial, or sacrificial altar, assuming it exists? Also, where on the Yucatan is it, and where can I find more photos?

The KT event, finished off the dinosaurs, though they were probably weakened by an increase of volcanic activity around the same period.

They found the crater at Chicxulub, would have been a 7.5 mile wide asteroid, and the dust with iridium all over the planet forming the KT layer confirmed it.

It was man-made, but I have heard about that meteorite.

I did read that Tulum was the only Mayan town on the coast, and it was on neither the northwest or northeast corner, so perhaps it was a courtyard from one of the resorts.

There are circular altars at Becán and at Edzna near Campeche. A Google image search for either name (perhaps with the word "circular") will find plenty of pictures.

Thats un-possible. I've never seen anyone from Mexico around here, have you? Nevertheless, I'll help you look.

Shall we start in Sweden? There are some blondes I want to question.. they may have seen something.

Well, there is one theory that a large meteorite crashed into the gulf there, killing the dinosaurs.....neuclear winter etc....
I am interested to see what a geologist says about this.
