I left out a few fruit peelings until some fruit flies (drosophila) turned up. I like the clear image of the haltere, the stick-and-ball orientation and balance organ that replaces the hind wing in flies.

Photogenic red eye topic

I think the red eye is a dominant colour for the drosophilia. Very useful insect in genetic research.

A lovely pic. Thanks. Would make a nice screen saver/poster. :D
