Having just starting my old computer with xp sp1 from the beginning and now it works great but after having figured how how to get it to connect to my router which is connected to another pc I had to use the WPS pin.The signal was picked up by my netgear wireless adapter and thus the computer but when I go to the internet it still wont connect to the net.I downloaded some drivers that I was missing already so nothing is wrong in device manager,so can some help me get this pc connected to the web.

The CD rom should be included in your wireless adapter box, plug the adapter in and run the Cd-Rom to install on your computer.

Since your problem is more of a Internet problem, you could try re-entering the wireless key again (if router is secured), sometimes, that helps.

You can alternatively plug your computer to your router to connect to the internet to see if that works? If not, then you would have to reset Internet Explorer settings under Internet Options > Advanced tab and there is the reset button and then reboot Internet explorer.

If none of the solutions worked, restart your router to see if it's that?

I installed the cd already the thing is the software and the pc you now the little network connection icon on the start recognize has connected to the network and the signal is excellent.The problem is when I start internet explorer it says page not found and says its not online am I supposed to do something special to make it recognize my connection that the rest of the thing recognizes.I need to get this working till I can get on the web and ditch IE for firefox which is what I use on this pc.I am gonna use the pc with xp for a retro games machine so I can run my games that have problems in 7 but can be worked around in xp.
