I just installed Firefox this morning and I'm pretty impressed so far, especially with the browsing speed and ad-blocking capabilities. For the people who use this browser, do you have any favorite extensions etc you'd like to recommend?

Do you find that FasterFox really makes a difference?

I don't know because I pretty much installed it right away. I do notice that Firefox is a lot faster than IE but I don't know if it's because of the extension. Try it yourself and see - these things are easy to uninstall if you don't like it.

hello. fasterfox is just a gui that turns pipelining on and makes simultaneous connections. u can do that in about:config just as easily with more control.

I don't use adblocking because i like the games that allow you to shoot a monkey and win an xbox. this site doesn't seem to have those. i wonder if they can add them upon request.

I don't really pay attention to google ads though because they're too boring.

firefox is awesome tho. I use it all the time.

I have:

Tab X (removes the close all tabs button, and adds it to ever tab's right side)
ForecastFox (very good and versatile weather forecast plugin)
FasterFox (as seen above)

Here's a fun one I just found: Bork Bork Bork. The description says "View web pages or mail as spoken by the Swedish Chef like this: "Feeoo veb peges oor meeel es spukee by zee Svedeesh Cheff."" Quite entertaining. You can turn the Bork translation on and off with a mouse right-click.

Here's the Bork copy of this post:
Here's a foon oone-a I joost fuoond: Bork Bork Bork. Zee descreepshun seys "Feeoo veb peges oor meeel es spukee by zee Svedeesh Cheff leeke-a thees: "Feeuu feb peges oour meeel is spookee-a by zee-a Sfedeesh Cheffff."" Qooeete-a eeterteeening. Defunk is another cool one - it generates random quotes for stress reduction, like "One time I ate toast."

In the Entertainment section I found some games and other cool stuff too.

Current Extensions:
IE Tab/IE View - for those odd occasions when I need to use IE to render a site
All-in-one-sidebar - I'd be lost without it
Bookmarks Synchronizer - Great for keeping my work, personal and family computer all using the same favourites.
AdBlock Plus - gets rid of those annoying ads

Others:
Web Developer - I use this on my home PC, where I used to do a lot of web site designing. I'd be lost without it as well.
Evolution Bar - I used to play Evo 5, and found this to be very handy.

Sage (a RSS aggregator) is excellent for keeping track of current events.

Copy image is useful for copying and pasting images, an IE feature I used to miss very much after switching.

ForecastFox is useful.

The Gmail notifier is very useful (if you have gmail).
