This guy called Anatoly Fomenko claims that he has scientifically proven most of our views on history wrong. As far as I know I am the first person to make a thread about this.

I admit that the reason I posted this is because I am fascinated by pseudoscientific conspiracy theories.

Any thoughts?

Hm.. I find his new chronology slightly laughable. I've been at a few archaeological digs when I was pursuing anthropology. The places we find certain tools, items, artwork, are generally located only in strata associated with the time period, unless they are moved geologically or anthropomorphically, of which there will be signs. Thus I find this theory hard to believe. I can assure you that there are almost a thousand years of soil between classical antiquity and the middle ages..

History is seen by the viewer, this guy needs glasses.

I hold the other view, it is all older than we think.

Genetics shows that sheep, goats, cattle, and the common grains, were domesticated 35,000 years ago. There is also evidence of writing and math from the period. The ice has come and gone twice since then.

My bad guys would be the ones who founded religious universities, most, and moved the date up to fit the faith, or at least not conflict with it.

Their view, after getting out of the ark, people settled in villages and grew field crops, and some animals just wanted to stay with them and be eaten.

Their wildest guess is within the last 10,000 years. Nothing happened before that. When pressed with evidence of a long string of bodies that look the same, they claim everyone before then was a mindless cave dweller, who might have had fire, and beat each other with clubs.

As for Russia being the center of the universe, versions of that story have been sold before. but they never seem to last.

Still, selling a million copies, the money is right.

All history is bunk.Stories told to defend a current story, which is also bunk. Events of the past which did happen on recently well mapped timeline, plus a lot of spin to fit the latest press release.

Also Turkic people in the independant Stans have a huge amount of oil and gas, which other people think they should have.

With an oil company in the White House, oil at $13, the Saudis bombed New York, so we hung their neighbor Saddam. The dates at least are right in the current version.

Our next President announced that no one was guilty of anything, it was all unforseen, but he had to give trillions to the people who caved in the economy. with no questions asked, plus tax cuts, changes in writing off losses, and less regulation. He did it for Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

From this, I think most history was a self serving lie, when written.

Anatoly Fomenko does not believe Dendrochronology for there were no trees before 4004 B. C.

The man is a crackpot. His premis is that the history we learn (which is an artifact to be sure) cannot be falsified empirically because of mysterious doings which prevent us from knowing the truth. It is pure Conspiracy CrapDoodle. We have enough items checked by radioactive dating to know our chronology is not completely bogus.

Real history is all the multi-trillions of events that happened up until know. Our historical story is a culling from those events and an interpretation of the few we pick out as significant. In that sense history as we receive it is an artifact, but it is not completely bogus.

And the Flavian Ampitheater was not built during the middle ages.

I'm not gonna lie, this is the first time I've ever heard about this. Everything I have read supports the neolithic agricultural revolution happening ~10,000 years ago, and they got this number through genetics and extensive archaeology. If there was civilization before it, which isn't that far out there I guess (maybe they left no archaeology? or it was washed away or destroyed by glacial movement) I would definitely think that more anthropologists would be talking about this
