I use jpeg for the most part, but that's because a lot of my pictures have to go on the internet. If I'm not uploading the image I'll use whatever format's best for the quality of the image. I don't do all that much work with images.

They're important enough to anybody who likes working with images. Importance is relative anyway, for example, technical details are important to me. But if a truck drove into your house I wouldn't care at all. You would consider a truck hitting your house very important, but you don't care about this question at all. See what I mean?
