Apple TV, Roku, Google TV, etc.?

Hi all - I was just gifted a nice new 40" LCD 1080p flatscreen - I'd been living in the dark ages with a 20" CRT for years now so this is all new to me. I was wondering if anyone here has anything along the lines of an Apple TV box, Roku, Google TV (I guess from Logitech or Sony in one of their Blu Ray players) etc., and how that is working for you? I'm thinking my main uses for it would be to play videos I've got on my PC through the TV, and to stream Netflix content. But I've heard all sorts of conflicting stuff - buffering / streaming issues, Netflix's online library isn't that good, etc. Can anyone share their experiences with any of these devices etc.?
