Would you recommend Rapport antivirus in addition to my Norton? I ask because my bank strongly suggests Rapport for security purposes. BUT.....my reservation: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) at one time proved to be a royal pain to uninstall and it wrecked havoc with my OS. Now I have a different laptop/OS but I am bit leery of SSL.

My Toshiba laptop's OS is Vista. Thanks guys!

I would recommend neither of those. Especially Norton which is bloated and offers little protection. Definitely do not install multiple antiviruses at the same time, as they will interfere with each other.

Microsoft Security Essentials is the antivirus of choice nowadays. I'm not sure what problems you had with SSL, but it is a valuable and useful technology.

Rapport is not an antivirus. It's simply an anti-keylogging software. In principle it should work with any anti-virus that doesn't come with similar protection. However, most commercial AV company (including Norton) has been adding HIP (Host-based Intrusion Prevention) features to their products for some time. So conflict is not unusual.

Why do you have to install SSL? And seriously not using SSL when it's available isn't recommended.
