Acer Aspire One and WMI devices problem in Linux
Does anyone know how to get the WMI (or ACPI) devices working properly for an Acer Aspire One D250 netbook that is running Ubuntu Lucid? I have checked out all the information that I can see on the subject, and the best information I have found so far is on the Ubuntu Forums, a thread entitled "How to fix wmid devices!! ! Error on your netbook.ubuntu systems" (sorry, I'm new on WrongPlanet, and don't have permission to post links yet).
I am running GKrellM and I cannot get any of the hardware sensors to display, except for the CPU temp, which never changes from 27°C. I'd like to be able to get the hardware sensors working. As mentioned in the Ubuntu Forums thread above, I don't just want to disable the interruption to the splash screen during the boot sequence. I want to have a fix, and not just a workaround. Any ideas?
