I used the bing beta for the first time today to do some image searches, and I must say it was love at first sight lol. It's easy to use, you get instant info on the files simply with a mouseover. I loved it, but I dunno if it has the potential to crack google's monopoly of the search engine empire.

Microsoft's main weakness I think is online services, apart from the MSN & update services it's pretty dormant online.

For those of you who haven't tried Bing: http://www.bing.com/

I'd love some oppinions on this one.

Also while I'm at it what do you think of Wolfram Alpha too.

Although I love the bonus bits on the image search, I was testing for content (ie: expected returns) and I found that I was less likely to get what I was expecting in my searches.

Google is much more accurate in that department, so I'll be sticking with them for now.

I dunno.

I searched for "free porn" and it worked :D

But given the fact that the site is probably a google ripoff (like MSN search was with altavista and the other search engines), i am not impressed.

When altavista came along a few years ago, i stopped using everything but that. When google came along i dropped altavista like a rock in vacuum.

Question to you: What exactly is so good about B in comparison to Googles search features? Can you provide some links to image and file searches? (Sorry, but i am too "Googlified" to care to bother to learn Bing right now).

If it becomes popular, I pretty much guarantee that Google will copy any features that they don't already have. Google isn't going anywhere..
