Depends on what you do with it. For text it is okay. Youtube etc is difficult...

USA?

Stay away from sprint, verison, quest...

Go with a land based "cable" internet with unlimited service. There is usually just one about everywhere... "shaw" "cox" .. etc.

Quest is resale, if you purchase something from them it comes with someone elses logo on it usually. Or comes with a quest logo but its usually someone else's service. Plus they are evil.

Where as a kindle 3g has free internet, and t mobile tends to have the best cell based internet (price to functionality) in my opinion.

It depends what's in your area. Cable is usually fairly good (but I've heard horrible things about Comcast), DSL is the next best option and is offered by most phone companies..

If you live in the eastern US, Time Warner Roadrunner is probably the best. Aside from the mention above, I've also heard bad things about Comcast, and know nothing about Cox.

Avoid DSL if at all possible, I've done DSL helldesk work, and it's very problematic.
