I have been thinking about this subject for many years.
Is Virgin Media the only ones in the cable industry?
In the UK ofcorse.
Because I have not come across a provider who doesn't host phone line broadband.
I do love Virgin Media dont get me wrong.
But their capping limit SUCKS.
Dont want to switch. I just want to see what else is out there.
Whats the capping limit on other cable broadband (if any) providers in the UK

There are no others covering the country, as far as I know.
Such is the primitive state of <kof> "Broadband Britain".

Virgin's 50 & 100 MBit services aren't capped, although they do cost more.
I'll be dropping ADSL and moving to their 50 MBit service some time this year with any luck.

“fibrecity” Bournemouth and Dundee have 100% fibre to the home with 100mb up & down, but the company that built the network has a number of problems.

Tbh it makes me feel very put out that the USA has 1GBPS connections, and we have rubishy broadband.
Your so damn lucky you can afford the 50MB!! !!
I wish I had 50Mb/ps

It's not too bad - because the cable service includes the cost of the transferred phone service, it's only a few pounds more than my current (separate) phone and ADSL accounts, plus there's the option of upgrading to 100 Mbps (and faster) in the future.
A nephew did this, from 50 to 100 - for an extra £7.00 per month.

I think the USA service is patchy and depends very much on where you live.
A nephew lived in Hong Kong for a couple of years and had a symmetrical 200 Mbps service - including phone & TV - for peanuts. 1 Gbps was available but with some limitations.
I read some time ago that new properties in Sweden had 100 Mbps broadband included amongst the basic services like gas, electricity and sewage.
As it should be - it's neither rocket science nor something new and exciting.

@x8-Neo-8x: Hull has something similar, I think, because BT (for some reason) never established a monopoly in that city.
