Hey!
I have an Xbox 360 2009 (Febuary 2009 I think its the Jasper chip) I want to softmod it because I want to see if I can develop for the 360 for my own pleasure without having to pay the 40 pounds that I really dont have. Is it legal to do it so I can do XNA programming to upload it to the softmod 360?
Please help out.
Thanks
PS:
Im sorry if this is prohibited.

Illegal? Not likely.

Will it likely void any warranty from Microsoft and if detected have your console blocked from Xbox Live? Very, very likely.

Not bothered about that. Will it brick it though?

Don't know. My guess is no. To what I know, there is no "tamper proofing" on the 360. Lots of people mod cases, cooling, etc. with no bricking, but I'm not sure what you are attempting to do....sounds like you're modding the software, and my guess is that whatever you'd do, you'd image the OEM software before trying anything. Like any PC, I think the 360 pretty much has to load base software to do anything.
