Anyone else salivating over the Google+ API?

Google+ is the right idea. The whole point of computer usage is to integrate all processed into one flow. With the "circle" system, it will be a piece of cake to organize all of one's social identifications into one spot. The API for creating automated extensions, say for discussion groups or integrated "hangout" discussions, hasn't been released yet but Google says that it's imminent.

The best time to write a new app for a system is when the APIs are released for the first time. This is usually because you have a smaller but smarter, more dedicated and intelligent, and more curious user base. They'll try anything that's new.

I so want to try the API as soon as is possible. If anyone else is interested, perhaps we could work together to test it out with a WP-like app, just to get the experience. Is anyone interested?

Is there any available documentation on the API? I couldn't find anything. I kind of like the idea of the circle system much more than I do how sites like Facebook and Twitter do things. I really have always been wary of using Facebook (I do have an account just don't log in ever) because I don't really like the idea that when you post something everyone sees it... seems to egotistic or something? lol I guess the main difference I see between Google+ and Facebook is that Google+ is more about sharing while Facebook is more about announcing.

Anyway I might be interested in trying out the API.... I'm always up for exploring new technologies. What kind of kind of app were you thinking of making? Feel free to PM.

The API isn't published yet. Google's known for its surprise announcements, so it could happen at any time.

I'm glad Facebook is going down in flames, and for the right reason too: they just didn't understand socialization. Goggle looks to be better, but it's still not perfect.

I honestly want to see if the API could be used to send out emotional state information as well as text, automatically if possible. I want to write the AI to check how a conversational flow can be used to show a emoticon face that shows happy, angry, sexy, etc. next to what you write, but you could change it if it's wrong. Over time, it would get better at interpreting the emotions people naturally have.

But if we just do a simple test app, it doesn't have to be that complex.
