depends, usually it is the physical conectiopn that weas out but it can be both drivers and bad PCB components as well.

how and when did it happen?
what model is it?
has anyone installed or messed with it lately (if not then that usually rules out drivers)

My friend says that it just kind of happened, one day and abt 6 months ago! It is a Apple Powerbook G4 no, however they took it to apple for a new battery but that didn't do anything

it sounds like the screen itself, does the screen heat up when you turn it on?(feel on the back)
if not it could be the cable conection, if it does it is most likely the VGA card

Does it make the bong sound when you hit the power button to start it up?

If so, hold down

apple option p r

when turning the computer on and wait until it makes the bong sound several times.

If you know how to open the computer, I would also use a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the inside of it. A computer that old is likely to have a lot of dust inside of it, and it may cause it to be overheating.
