Okay, just wondering what these are. I am actually starting a job at best buy selling them, but between the interview process and being just totally overwhelmed by how huge the story is, how many employees there are and how social the environment is--I have no clue as to what i'll be selling when I start the job.

I know OS is operating system, but isn't that something like windows? What electronics could possibly go with that?

Sounds like terminology someone made up. I would have asked them to clarify.

You need to have someone in the store explain your duties better. Also, when you don't understand something, ask someone to explain it.

As for "OS", all desktop, laptop, notebook, and tablet PCs use an operating system. So do many cell and prepaid phones. I believe some video/computer game systems also have operating systems, too, but have never had one.

Remember, just ask a question when you don't know the answer. Also remember, we on the spectrum are all:

A Different Drummer

If a man does not keep pace with his companions,
Perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
However measured or far away.

Chances are they were talking about tablets and e-readers, which usually run the Android operating system. Maybe laptops too.
I wouldn't worry though, if they've hired you, then surely they'll train you or provide reference material regarding the specs of the devices you'll be selling.

Thank you for the replies--yes, they hired me (surprisingly enough).

Employee orientation is wednesday, I was actually told what things my department would have in it--but I must've been in sheer shock of getting the job.

Orientation is tomorrow, whereas the past two days have been nothing but test taking. It'd have been nice to get a scoop on what I actually will be doing beforehand.

My short term memory is just terrible, I was told again today but I got to get put on the spot by another employee who then reiterated, with my boss merely suggesting the question wasn't clear enough.

You'd think they'd have this in one of the dozen plus sheets that they gave me when I got hired.

Also direct questions seem to just be annoying, there is always a song and dance, I don't even know how to find someone to contact when I need assistance as they won't let me email them (I have their email address).

Meh, enough ranting about the job, thanks for the answers.
