Any recommendations? Preferrably something that is different from what everyone else is using.

Why not pester Sopho? I'm sure she'd know. Otherwise, a Google search with the proper keywords might also work.

And no he actually doesn't as ZOMG was always on it's own domain.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I developed a forum using http://www.mybb.com/ its open source and has many plugins, you can also install asuch as a facebook login feature, custom templates, and many more. Mybb is also desinged to protect your forum against S.Q.L injections. Not to mention the graphics on Mybb is astonishing.

Here is an example of my forum which is not ready for public use yet.
