Looking for a Windows Live Writer type product...

that does the same thing for phpBB and/or vBulletin posts. Asking just out of curiosity. I'm guessing the answer is "nope," but I've been wrong before and figured there was no harm in asking.

For the uninitiated, what WLW does is provide a word processing type interface (off-line) for writing blog posts that can then be sent to Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad (I think) and a bunch of other blogging platforms. Even though my experience with it has been mixed, the pluses seem to out-weigh the minuses, particularly if you're interested in adding a table to a post, which works quite well. I also find it easier to work with on the rare occasions the spirit moves me to write a War and Peace length blog post.

OTOH, WP.com seems to not play well with colored fonts generated by WLW. Strips the HTML out on upload in most cases, toot-sweet, even though they're colors otherwise allowed in WP.com.

Anyway, I won't blather on any more than I already have about it, just curious if there's anything like it somewhere for BB posts. Here's a shot of the input screen, FWIW...

(And on an unrelated note, lest anyone think I'm shilling for Softie, I was PISSED when they decided that Windows Live Writer would no longer be available as a "stand-alone" product, but only as part of the "Windows Live" line of bloatware crap, none of which I needed or wanted. You're supposed to be able to pick and choose which of the products you want but WLW 2011 didn't seem to work right without first d/l-ing the entire suite. But it still worked right when I manually deleted all the other garbage afterwards. Go figure. I Suppose I shouldn't b***h about freeware, but leave it to Softie to take something that works decently and bundle it with a whole lotta crapola.)

I don't think those things will work so well with phpBB2 simply because it's so f**king dated that it has trouble embedding photos in posts, let alone anything else.
