just got my ipod touch
i have yet to actually use it but from the looks alone i am more then a bit impressed. it's not much bigger then my credit card, and has 32 gigs of space and can do like 50 different things.
i'm not going to hate on apple anymore ^^; my little touch has already blown my mind. i still have no idea how all of that stuff fits in there, but when they say high tech they ain't kidding. le last most high tech gadget i bought was my psp.
and all of the cables and things it needs are in a small container not much bigger then the device.
my old media player looks like a damn brick it's so big, is touch is small, lite-weight and will be easy to take with me any where.
i feel like an idiot trashing on apple now. because they are pro the touch alone proves that.

Congrats on getting your iPod touch! I love mine, it goes everywhere with me. It does so much, all the free apps you can download, like whistle (turn it into a phone when you have a hotspot), and checkbook programs, Netflix, and cool games. If you like mmorpg's check out Celtic heroes. It's the closest thing to evrerquest that they've got out there. Oh yeah and pandora radio is awesome. I use it at night when I sleep.
Do yourself a favor and get a good protective cover! I highly recommend otter box brand covers. They're pricier than most but if your a clutz like me you'll be glad you did! Anyways, if you have any questions feel free to pm me!

oh i know about screen scratches. my zen got scratched up bad when i put it in the case with my camera.
i still don't get how that device has the power it does for being so small. still the designer must have been a freaking genius. i have it play music through my monitor speakers. my main speakers are bose.
that shake to shuffle music is cool, itunes seems to me finicky with video, i'm guessing it like mpgs and nothing else. all the videos i made in mpg format are the only ones that showed.
but yeah i have screen covers for my dses as well, i scratched them alot drawing in colors. i never played everquest honestly. if it's like wow or rift i might like it.
but i find out something new the touch can do every time i pick it up. ironic it is called the ipod touch...
i'm not to familiar with apple products so it might be a while before i have ton of stuff on it. any flying games, with the motion control i think a flying game would be interesting.

no kidding, never coulda guessed how far it would go at that point. but when you think of it like that. it got really popular and innovative, and i still remember when the video one was made, at the time i thought that was cool. the touch though is way better in almost every way.
i also remember people hacking the video ipod to make it play games, i don't remember where i saw that or read about it.
when you think about it it wasn't that long ago the video one was released the touch almost seems ahead of it's time. there are some weird games in the app store.
were is the app that reads your mind as fox stated. that's the only news channel that i ever see on the living room tv nowadays.
i found out quite a bit about the touch on fox, for a time it seemed like ipod touch news was the only thing happening. or at least when i walked in the room.
but watching the commerical previews of a few of it's many features, i would watch thinking it was fake. at the time most high tech thing next to it was probably the blackberry. i still remember asking my mom, is that a phone or what? now i got alot of catching up to do in the ipod bandwagon. i jump on alot of bandwagons really late.

Yeah I just got a smartphone myself. They are quite nifty. I thought maybe I'd use it once a week or so, but I use it every day. It's just fun to use a little thing that fits in your hand and can do all this stuff, and the screen resolution is so high for the size that it doesn't look like a 'stereotypical' computer screen, it looks like actual printed text or pictures or whatever. I've used the actual phone part of it 3 or 4 times since I got it a few months ago
The only thing is the screen seems too small sometimes, so I'm tempted to get a bigger tablet type computer, but I'd only really use that at home, and I have a desktop computer, so.. it seems pointless.
But yeah, smartphones and 'mini-tablets' in general really are awesome.. much more so than I thought it would be when I ordered it.
There are also some fun apps that only seem to be available for smartphone-type devices, like Google's Currents and tons of games and apps etc. and they tend to be free, or pretty cheap.

i never owned a phone before my nv i just thought it was cool and high tech on the commecials. but these little gadgets are cool. before phones had no games gps etc. now they have racing games, fps, action. gps maps, texting. they are practically computers themselves. sounds like my phone turn it on and play doom rpg.
and this is an odd question, how do you turn the touch off. i don't want it running all night, i tried holding the button down nothing. never had this problem before.
this thing has speakers as well, this thing pumps out some decent sound from a speaker as thin as dime, and i thought my bose were awesome. this thing never seems to fail to suprise me. i am still shocked at how small it is. looked bigger in the commercial.
i find it weird that a device i am holding in one hand, does almost anything my pc can do, and it is huge. makes me wonder if a micro computer would be cool.
and holy hell there are a ton of apps, and for the weirdest things O_o. i got sonic and sega kart game, and a gran turismo racing simulatorish game.
found out how to turn it off, turns out the back thing i thought was a rubber bumper thing is the power button -_- black lines on gadgets like that are usually rubber bumpers. and i'm the computer wiz on the block... if that is true then this block is screwed.
but i'm shocked this thing has better internet speed then my ps3 and they both run the same wireless connection.

yeah there are so many apps to choose from, i found one that can tell you the lyrics of any song it hears. i can't tell you how much i have needed a program like this in the past. i always hear a song i like and not know what song it is because i never heard it before so it drives me crazy till i get home and google the lyrics to find the song's name. after that i add it to rapsody.
now i have something that tells me then and there what song it is, i love this thing already and i've only had it 2 days.

My iPod Touch has changed my life. I use it for everything. I used to drag my MacBook around everywhere, but now I bring this instead. I use it for e-mail, note taking, blog writing, ideas, etc. I use a great cloud based app called Evernote that lets me sync info on my iPod & all my Macs.
Enjoy yours!

yeah i know it does everything and it is so small and portable. i find myself looking up guides and different things when i get stuck in games so far. i only just got it though. but honestly it's hard not to go nuts with the apps, there are so many, it makes you curious about what could possibly be out there.
i have 8 now i think.
i still have to get used to that tilt to steer in racing games, first gadget i ever had that does that. poor sonic keeps getting dead last.
but i have to say my fav thing about it is how well the screen is calibrated, the ds and dsi have finicky touch screens, the ds more so. i got a monopoly game for the ds, i can't play it at all on my ds lite the dsi runs it better.
but you can't touch the screen with your finger at all and expect to be able to do anything accurately. i know because i tried that.
the ipod touch has virtually no problems with the touch screen. i like that.

Maybe we should start sharing Game Center id's and start a competition :p
you got the white one, i have black it was cheaper of the two by about 10$.
i don't even have game center activated yet, when i checked it out i was hoping it was a game manager, no such luck.
but i'm not sure how well it would work on my end, i live out in the middle of nowhere and wireless signals aren't very good. i could try it as long as there is no fee to use it.

Game Center doesn't work that way.
Basically, the only thing it does it list high scores and in-game achievements. It's not like on the PSP or Nintendo DS where you can play games against each other online.

on another note a found a video editor for the ipod, damn. video editors i've always known as being hard on computers in general. on alot of my weaker machines vegas and movie maker seemed to really bog them down, so i am impressed that this device can run one.
i want to get it but i looked at another called reeldirector and it said these programs only work with recorded footage from the ipod itself, and thus it would be useless to me i only work with game footage. and i'm not going to capture all the footage again from scratch. i have around 3000+ fmvs and other types of game footage 80% i captured myself on the viao.
the one i was looking at is imovie.

oh, i like that better. as long as i can play my games by myself i'm happy. but even then i would suck regardless. i still haven't gotten used to steering in racing games, i bash my cars off the walls left and right. and i don't have much games in general, just sonic racing, real racing, heroes vs monsters, final fantasy. and that's it. there are so many games it's hard to choose just one.
