I used 23andme only because I got it for free. Even for free, it wasn't worth it. Didn't provide any useful information. CBC news did a piece on how bunk those ancestry DNA companies are, they used two identical twins and not only did they get drastically different ancestry from company to company, they didn't even get the same results from the same company even though the two are identical twins. So essentially its all a BS scam.
It is even worse than that!
The customers of these tests are giving the Corp. ALL of their genetic information, which has monetary value, and which the Corp. is free to sell, and PAYING the Corp. to take it!
So they get paid now, and then they get to sell your info REPEATEDLY to other Corp.s and researchers, without any constraints and in perpetuity. What a brilliant move...for them.
