Oh, people who know workarounds, please tell me there's a way to delete all my posts on WP. I know officially there's no way since I asked in the wrongplanet.net discussion forum but I really and truly regret posting all the stuff I've posted here publicly.

There is no workaround.

Yeah, as far as I know... I suggest that you find the specific posts you are worried about and ask a moderator to delete them. You have 2340 posts, not all of them can be that revealing? Or just keep posting as much random stuff as you can until you reach 10,000 or more posts and nobody in their right mind would have the patience to sift through them to stalk you :P
It would be nice if there was a delete function. Maybe in the site's future? Though you cannot really get rid of anything, you can at least make it hard to find unless someone were really dedicated to looking

I would just edit the ones you feel are the most damning. Time consuming I know, but it might make you feel better.

Unfortunately you only have ~1 week or so to edit things before they become permanent

Ah. I've been trying the bury-posts-in-more-posts method and what it comes down to is I regret even "nothing" posts. Cause I'm weird. Well thank you much, in any case.

I think we're all a little weird :P embrace it!! :)

Unless you have posts with your real name, email address, or links to places with either of those, you should have nothing to worry about. If there are, maybe the mods would be willing to edit them for you. It might be time consuming but go through all your posts and take note of the ones that you think could actually be compromising to your privacy in some manner

There are non-weird people on WP?

This is covered in the FAQs: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp3870313.html#3870313

The one thing NOT to do is to link your WP name to your real-life identity. Keeping them separate allows you talk about anything without fear of any problems surfacing in real-life. If you have made one or two indiscreet posts moderators are sympathetic and will remove those posts. However, we can only do this on an individual post by post basis so no moderator is going to spend all day manually removing one post at a time. Besides we are not allowed to do so anyway by Alex.

If you have made lots of posts linking your WP identity to your real life identity or given away this information via Facebook etc then there is nothing we can do, you have effectively burned your bridges.

Thank you. I'm way past that point anyway. I don't know what I'm thinking. I hate irreversible things.

purchase, I feel the same way how you feel about past posts. I wish there was a way too.

For me, at the time I post, I write, read, re-read, and sometimes I'm okay with it for a short while, and then I wish I could delete my entire profile.

I've always been a private person, mainly because I've always known I'm weird and I've even been called weird by people I respect (i.e.; they are not joking around). It's okay when I'm joking around to be called weird (yes, sometimes I laugh at myself), but it can be hurtful to be called weird when I'm being serious....and also I don't want people to know that much about me.

I also realized though, if I'm going to feel like I can communicate with others who may share a similar issue, then I have to be willing to share too.

Edit to add: I wish ALL forum topics here were for registered users only except maybe one designated area could be open for non-members.

PS: the WP twitter feed weirds me out, and I don't like that this place is "google searchable" either.

It might make you feel a bit better to think of it this way ?:

If someone in "real life" is going to search through your posts to read everything you've written, then they either care about you more than you realize, or they're a stalking creep. "Normal" people are not usually that curious, nor do they have the time to do this.

I sort of feel the same way Purchase.

But, like what the moderators say, it's only possible to delete certain revealing posts...otherwise, everything else is imprinted and passed around to third-party websites.

What about the paparazzi goodwitchy? They might turn stalker-ish if you were THAT famous.

I fourth. However, the downside would be that WPs Google ranking would plummet and that means that newly diagnosed people with aspergers / austim would not be able to find this site. The fact that all but one of the forums is exposed to Google means that people can find this site in many ways. As I recall, four years ago I found WP by doing a Google search regarding OCD and my counting "habit". I think the majority of people who are members here simply stumbled on WP via Google.
