I HATE MY NETBOOK!! !! !! !

I just bought an acer aspire one d257 loaded with windows 7 stater what a joke it was. So i wiped it and installed windows xp. This thing lags beyond a joke!! ! (Xp itself runs fine) but when browsing certain web pages! I thought this thing is supposed to be a "NET" book! But it cant even handle the net!! ! it plays 720p youtube smoothly?! But lags when i play certain flash games? And when browsing the facebook website. is nearly unusable! So i though i load a few classic games from around 2002 2003, Games i tried GTA vice city, Max payne, call of duty and a few others, All worked great! But why does this piece of crap lag when just on google! :evil: :evil: :evil:

No arguments there... 7 Ultimate x64 for me.

Methink that a Graphics card issue. Missing driver?

Maybe not Graphics. What browser are you using? IE? Get something better than IE, Because IE is really bad.

Now I am definately thinking missing Driver

Start > RIGHT CLICK my computer > Manage > Device Manager. Are there any Unidentified Devices?

My graphics driver is fine only ethernet and my sd card reader are not detected

4GB DDR2 RAM
750GB HDD
and
7 Ultimate x64

My sister just got a netbook with windows 7 Starter and me being a Techy she wanted me to try to find out how to change the Wallpaper and I found out you have to hack the OS to even change the wallpaper. I think they should have still kept around support for Windows XP Home just for the netbooks atleast. I have a Acer Aspire One and thankfully I got it back when they were installing standard Windows XP Homes on it even though I prefer Windows XP Professinal. The first windows 7 starter you could only run 3 programs on the taskmanager and that is it. From what I seen would use Windows ME over Windows 7 Starter.

Netbooks are a joke. The keyboards are also often utterly terrible.

Buy an iPad. Honestly, it's just far better. I have both and my netbook's been gathering dust for months now.

there is no flash support on an ipad or ipad 2 so i can't play my facebook games

Facebook games, like netbooks, are a joke. Games from the App Store are better, and many have Facebook integration so updates from them will still go to your wall.

Short answer : NO

Long answer : Laptops (such as my aspire) have got 2 Ram Ports. Your netbook HAS ONE. You can only put 2GB Ram into the machine. That is not enough to run x64

Netbooks are generally crap with games since they come with a $2 integrated graphics adapter, both of mine are unable to render basic 3D games with anything higher than basic shaders @ 5 FPS.

Want to game "on the move"? Get a proper laptop!

I like my netbook. It's crap but lasted two years. I use it mostly for coding, not sure I can imagine a smaller computer/terminal/mobiledevice I could use for that.
