Facebook changing to Timeline tommorow????!

According to my mum, facebook will turn EVERY profile into Timeline tommorrow. I'm so pissed I HATE timeline, it'll show how dumb of a 12 year old I was in the past. Plus it's REALLY confuzing, and I don't get why things are sorted into collumns. What do the collumns MEAN?? Is there one for one thing and one for another or is everyone just randomly sorted into one of them??? The ones on my friend's walls are so out of order and crazy I can't read them anymore. I think Facebook chose something PRETTY instead of something actually readable. Anyone hate this? Is it REALLY going to change Tommorrow??

I hope not, if it is a permanent change I'm getting rid of my FB once and for all. I barely use it as is and the timeline thing looks ret*d

I have no idea what timeline is as facebook itself overwhelms me. Most likely, this will prompt me to never use facebook again.

With timeline imo, Facebook could go the way of RealPlayer. Ah, when owners of companies become megalomaniacs...Oh well, I don't got a Facebook, because I believe it's part of the One World Government Illuminati New World Order Conspiracy by the Obama Administration, but uh, besides that, it'd be a bit too overwhelming, "you got real life in my internet!" and unfortunately, it'd not work out like peanut butter and chocolate. (Reese's commercial reference...) Oh well, does sorta suck Facebook is doing that, it seems like NOBODY wants it. Oh well.

I've already started writing a massive letter to post on Zuckerbergs wall if my profile gets changed over.

I despise timeline.

If that happens I am deleting my account down to just my profile picture and friends list, will get rid of likes, pictures, everything. So I would have to tell my mom to not tag me anymore I guess

this is a link about it. It is dated late january and says that it will become mandatory in a few weeks, so tomorrow is a possibility

Facebook is forever changing. Its really irritating.

You think Mark Zuckerberg actually cares? You want to hit him where he actually cares, his wallet. Though it may be very minuscule in the scheme of things, the best protest would be to delete your account, as he gets money from you being on his website. Others may follow suit if you do, too.

Realplayer did this, too, it started out as THE best video platform, but then it got too filled with ads and basically it tried to bite off more than it could chew, and then it had a gargantuan competitor (Microsoft) who swept up on it. Realplayer, in case people don't remember, everyone used it, BBC, CNN, all that fun stuff, and now it's a vague memory in people's minds, simply because people just got fed up with it over too many minor things happening with it. The same can happen with Facebook.

Fight the power...maybe? Kinda? A little bit?

I had no clue as to what this timeline thing is so I decided to check a random selection of people on my list which includes Mr. Alex Plank. He was the only who changed his page.

At least you guys can personalize the layout if it gets changed to timeline.

I like the new layout. It's much easier for me to use as I notice a lot more things when they are right in front of me instead of to the side.

If you are worried about your privacy then don't post stuff on Facebook. At all. The timeline switch doesn't matter. It doesn't matter! Anything you've ever put on Facebook is available forever. FOREVER! Stuff can't be deleted. It can't. Ever. It just gets marked 'deleted' and it doesn't show up on your screens. But it is still on Facebook servers and can be accessed with the right know-how.

All the data and all the pictures you've ever uploaded are available forever, if you know how to access them.

The privacy and security stuff doesn't work. Don't think you can keep people out by clicking on some checkboxes.

And Facebook partners (marketing firms, Facebook's actual customers are marketing firms, not you!) pay them big bucks to access all the data through different methods not available to you.

The timeline change is literally just a change to the user interface. The underlying data is and has always been accessible forever.

Is it changing soon? Mine didn't change yet but I was reading some articles that gave today as the change date.

I've been deleting stuff from my Facebook and preparing to delete it if timeline is forced on me. I don't want it and find it to be very confusing.

I don't like the timeline. Once they change it, can you go back and delete old posts?

Dunno but I've deleted all my posts, links etc already. All that remains is my avatar and list of "friends".
