I need the I-net. I don't have long distance phone service, but can email relatives far away on the cheap.
As for Google, they have become too controlling, intrusive, and invasive of privacy. I had a home page account with Google for several years. I also have home pages with several other sites. Some months back, I found out Google was making some changes that would have had them collecting data on all my web surfing done through my home page on their site. I spent some time over a couple of weeks finding out the RSS codes of most of the modules on my Google pages, so I could get those modules on my other main home page site. Once I finished updating my other main site I deleted my Google pages and my account. There were several modules that I couldn't find the RSS codes for or that were Google in house products, that I had to lose, but it was worth it, to keep Google from spying on me, and from sharing data about me with advertisers. I get too many ad cookies as it is.
I am not the only one who dumped Google after they made those changes. They published what they were going to do, and I read articles about it, and the comments in the online articles indicated that a lot of other people were planning on dumping Google because of the new changes.
I don't even use Google as my search engine because they track users. There are plenty of alternative search engines out there. I use, and like, Ixquick, which doesn't track users, as my main search engine. Another non tracker is Scroogle. Some other search engines I've tried are Dogpile, Mamma, About.com, and eHow.com. There are many others out there. Just do a search on search engines to find plenty of them. some are general search engines, and some are subject or topic based.
