Hi my Tablet (MID Android Tablet) will not connect to the Internet. I have entered the password correctly, and everything else connects but my Tablet. It just says 'scanning, connecting, disconnected, scanning' and usually never actually connects to the Internet.
Advice? I cannot return the Tablet to the Vendor/seller.
I really want to get some Ebooks....

If I assume you have access and permission to modify the wireless router, I would suggest turning off security to see if things work... I don't know your equipment, but that would make everything as simple as possible.

Is it possible that your router is set to only allow access to specific MAC addresses?

Any chance you can go somewhere with free wi-fi to see if you can connect? That could help you determine if it is a hardware issue with your tab.

U could also try doing a "hard" reset which will restore the system back to factory defaults. I used to have an Android 2.2 MID tablet that wouldn't connect to Wi-Fi and when I restored it to factory defaults, it worked fine. If ur unfamiliar with the OS, u just go into Settings and it's found under the Privacy category. This will also erase any information u have stored on the internal memory. U might want to backup any files if you proceed with this!

Since you can connect elsewhere, I would consider trying different security settings on your router. It would probably mean tweaking every device that connects wirelessly, but it could fix you up. It could be that your tab doesn't support the particular security protocol that your router is currently set for. Routers tend to support multiple security frameworks.

If it has a resistive touch screen that would probably explain why some people hate it. A lot of technology impaired people associate tablet use with the more responsive capacitive displays found on iPads etc. and can't adapt to the "art" it takes to use a resistive.

I'm not rich either.....the only reason I'm using a $200USD tablet is because it was given to me as a gift. I usually have to obtain devices that are way outdated and exploit them to the max to make them better. I actually traded my Android 2.2 mid tablet for a Samsung Acclaim cellphone. The 2.2 mid had a bad internal battery (it burned up or something on the inside, smell very noticable) and would not power up at all unless the AC adapter was plugged into it. The minute you unplugged the cord, immediate shut-off. So I traded it for an Android 2.2 phone, rooted the phone, flashed a custom rom (UberAcclaim) and now it works great!
People will always poke fun at most anything. Those mid Android tablets are very good for the price you pay.
