Try not to insult the work of the developers of Mach by referring to OS X as UNIX based when the creators of Mach hated UNIX (the kernel) so much they created Mach in the first place. I prefer people say it's a UNIX compliant system built on the original Mach microkernel based work which was later developed on by NeXT and later Apple, and has portions of FreeBSD ported into it. To call it UNIX based disregards the entire purpose for which Mach exists. 
For the record I use a bit of everything, including a macbook pro.

What's "Mach"? I never heard of "Mach" before. Say it right: It's Mac, without the "h".

Not cool. Incidentally, about half the computer science faculty at my uni uses Macs. The other half mostly runs Linux. A pretty good chunk of the mathematics faculty are also Mac users.Quote:
