Is there anybody who is into television broadcasting?

Is there anybody who is into local television broadcasting like design, music, studios, call letters and schedules. All the technical things. I discovered this was one of the things I was into a short time ago. I live in Erie, PA and the market for local broadcasting sucks over here. I find this stuff interesting to me, well just because so. It would be nice to get into college and do behind-the-scenes work for a campus broadcaster.

So nobody else really has a passion for television broadcasting I see.

Not anymore. I worked in television for about 10 years.

Most of the time it doesn't pay as well as you'd think, unless you can hire on with PBS or move to a major market like New York City, Chicago, or Dallas.

I will say the coolest thing I did was drive a news van. I put up the big mast and established a signal with the station. Otherwise I find the business repetitive and surprisingly uncreative and unimaginative.

To some extent I think this is corporate influence. I think back in the day when more television really was local it was probably much more interesting then as it is today running awful syndicated shows and reruns.
