so i just opened my new laptop and it seems a lot better than the hp i was going to go with.(thanks everyone ;p) the targus travel case is also badass too...and the speakers are phenomenal o.0.
anyway I had some questions.
First of all, I heard that windows 8 doesnt have ''x'' buttons but i see ''x'' on all of my windows..did i get a bootleg copy?
secondly, I was told this computer was NEW when i purchased it but when i opened up internet explorer and started typing ''youtube'' or ''google'' when i typed the y or the g google and youtube were suggested..is that normal?

theres no X on win8 apps. To close those click and grab them from the top and slide them down.
and thats a feature called autosearch on most browsers. It starts looking for the sites you want from an internet list instead of just local cache

So is the fact that when im in firefox and have an ''x'' for firefox and desktop stuff like control panel normal?

This app crap is confusing, i clicked the skype app and it isnt working. decided to download it from skype instead.

Also how the hell did i get a 4.1 windows experience score lol? It says for processor (intel i3 2370m with 2.4 ghz) i only got a score of 6.8 lol...shouldnt this be better?
for ram(4 gb) i only got 5.8
graphics(4.1)
hard disk only a 5.9 lol

Once again, the video card is the culprit for the overall low rating. I guess the laptop is fine for general browsing, but you might have a hard time tying to run Call of Duty. BTW, I'm surprised you're using Firefox when the W8 IE browser is fully featured and fully protects you from the internet baddies.

ive always preferred firefox should i not use it? Also i never asked this before so why say once again? I understand my base score is due to to graphics but why is my processor only 6.9? Im going to go test out the floor model computers at best buy.

Hopefully you lucked out and got one of the last ones with Win7 on it. --If that's so, consider yourself fortunate.

Even with Ionmonkey, Firefox is basically in perpetual catch-up mode vs. Chrome. Firefox isn't a bad browser (nor is Opera), but I would suggest Chrome.

I would also suggest Windows 7 unless you are running a sub-10" display.
