I have used his website a lot and so has my kid, so I was interested to hear of his book.

I love that guy.

Khan Academy is the Genesis of serious AND fun online education. So far, as far as I know, Udacity is the only other online education program that has what Khan Academy has.

Coursera is waaaay better than Udacity. IMHO.

Not really. Sure it's got a lot of courses to offer, but it isn't anything different from your traditional and boring on-campus courses. Just that they happen to be online.

The key to success is to empathize with the people who want to learn but just either can't afford to do it or need something stimulating to learn something new. Coursera, at this stage, is not running with this in mind. All they're concerned about is promoting their own associated unis to the people.
