Computers are a type of technology. So why is this forum not titled simply "Math, Science and Technology"?

Why question everything that catches your attention?

Computers are a type of technology, and a kind of science (computer science). You need mathematics for using them and no other technology is like computers, but you can integrate computers in other technologies. Therefore computers comes firsts.

Software, as a technology has a greater degree of artificiality about it. Software is really the business end of making algorithms which are guided only by the principle of non-contradiction. There are few if any natural physical laws constraining algorithms, as such. Where has making physical devices such as chips or bending metal IS constrained by the laws of physics. So keeping the two kinds of technology separate makes some kind of sense.

Better still, why not title it "Computers, mathematics, science, and technology" in respect to the many English-speaking autistic people outside North America.

Really? No-one outside NA shortens it to "Math"? Cmon.

That title is to give people a quick idea of where to post... like a roadsign.

It's not a legal contract... :nerdy: :nerdy:

People outside North America shorten to "maths" instead of to "math".

And in the year 2525 humanity was divided for lack of an 's'.
