I have some family videos (VHS converted to mp4) that I want to edit on my ipad. Sadly all the videos I have end up in "video" not photos. How can I change this?

Why would the videos be in photos?

Videos you shoot with ipad/iPhone show up in photos. All video editing apps look for the videos there. I like to edit when I am on the bus or waiting around. Thus the ipad.

Is it not possible to have a video editing app look elsewhere? There is no iPad equivalent of File | Open available in them, where you could navigate and find the files manually?
Or, if "photos" refers to a directory (and "video") just move the files from video to photos.

Hmm. That's all so obvious I can't help thinking something is missing... :?

iPads do not let you do that....

...euwww - and that's what was missing.
After a quick search, I see what you mean. That's all somewhat restrictive.
Sorry, I have no idea.
I found stuff that lets you get files on the iPad via a PC and iTunes, but there appears to be no way of telling anything where you want them to go.
