Hey,
I'm currently a student looking for someone who may be willing to do some free 3d modelling for an autism related project which has been started (using crappy models i've created hehe). I'm aiming to have the first version complete by June.

On completion, the project will be made open source(so if it reaches a wide audience you'll have your name on it :)) - i'd also love, love, love to have some feedback and creations directly by someone with ASD(I have ADHD and parents/siblings with AS) so I am after someone who would be genuinely interested and enthusiastic. The project is aimed in helping others better understand Autism.

If interested, please message for more information and include any work you may have completed or any other computer skills you may have :).

Why should someone do work for you, what are you offering for their time? Believe me when you get to do this stuff professionally you would understand why I'm being quite harsh on you. I hear this all the time. "Do it for me I can't, I have nothing to offer in return". It is often caused by confusion over what "open source" actually means.

I understand you are doing this for advocacy, but you have not sold this very well. What is it you want to communicate? What research have you done? You need to do something towards the project to get backers, and people willing to pitch in.

As someone who was interested in cad, modeling, and programming from a young age. Why don't you take some initiative? Or at least explain how you are going to help the process.

Btw this is not a offer, you will need someone with free time, probably a student like yourself.

What exactly do you need done? I have a bit of drafting/modelling experience, but I am pretty busy at the moment and don't have that much free time to commit. I may be able to squeeze in some time though if it isn't anything too complex or crazy!

I appreciate your comments but I dislime your assumption I havnt taken any initiative.
With all due respect I am and have put in a substantial effort into this project thus far. Ive also been programming from a young age.

Im doing modelling myself but im no-where amazing, I was simply seeing if anyone would be interested for the fact it is autism related. Id more than happy contribution to adhd projects or autism projects for free. Im making something free and open source.

Yes ive spent 4 months researching, visiting schools and conducting interviews, designing and now im programming. But I want this to be good, I want to contribute something good to the community and at the moment the graphics and models ive done are not simlly good enough.

I would simply want a modeller and possibly someone who will give feedback if they were willing, ill do everything else myself. Including beta testing and evaluating with people in which I will be present and have a large amount of people lined up.

No worries :). If you can that would be great, if not, no worries.

I've sent you a message :).

Ok that is good it just didn't come across in your original message.

Trust me when you get to my age you will be used to all the freeloaders, and it is quite a similar style.

This could be organized in a fun manner: A group of people could create 3D models/props, another group maybe textures, and project manager could combine them in the final scene. Sure as hell beats hanging on a forum all day doing nothing. :thumleft:

If I can find people who'd be willing, or perhaps more people keen for the idea, i'd more than happily set this up.

Also, would anyone be interested in demoing what's been done so far and giving feedback?
