Is it? It usualy crashes when I try to, for example, scroll a pdf when the computer is still opening the file. This is the typical action: doing something too fast. When I see the details on the report it has something to do with the Minidump, whatever that is. I've checked for virus in the files they point to and found nothing. Can someone help me?

No. It's not normal for W8 to crash every day. In fact, it really shouldn't crash at all no matter how its used. My money is on you having faulty RAM chips. You'd have to change them both out.

No, Windows 8 runs perfectly for me. The only version of Windows I've ever had crashing issues with was Vista, and I think that was more hardware than anything. As redrobin said, look into your hardware and see if it needs replacing.

Good idea on the faulty RAM... might as well do a RAM test since it's free!

Just after turning on your computer and just after its logo/POST screens, (BEFORE Windows logo!) tapping F8 usually brings up some boot options before Windows loads... a memory test is one of them. (Assuming Win8 kept it in the same place as Win7, etc.)

I just finished reading an article... several PC vendors are getting poor sales due to the general dislike over Win8, comparing it to "another Vista"

Thanks for the input guys.

I've done a test on the memory and it has no problems.

I've updated win8 with all the files that were available and since then it hasn't crashed. lets cross fingers.

Windows 8 has only crashed on me once and that is when i was using photoshop. I actually love windows 8 and it has never frozen on me once(other then the photoshop incident). Linux actually freezes more on me!
