So lately I've seriously been considering my PS3's hard drive because of the simple matter that I have to much stuff on it (games, save files, etc.). Before I continue on, are there any weird things I need to keep in mind? I know that a 5200 rpm 2.5 inch SATA drive is needed, and that Sony appears to have no problems with it (I mean, they DID put the instructions in the manual). Anything else?

Backup to an external hard drive. You go to System Settings > Backup Utility and backup to an external hard drive before you replace the 2.5" SATA drive.

After installation, you go back to Backup Utility and restore your data.

Drives are cheap, you can get a 1TB drive for $85 at OWC: http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search ... t=SATA+2.5
