Long shot, but figured I'd ask.

Interested in having some food samples tested for salicylate acid content in mg/100g as not all foods have been tested, so there isn't info online on eeevverything.

One I'm wondering about is caffiene pills. Regular coffee has high salicylates, decaf has none/very very low as the acids are removed during the swiss water decaffeination process. I'm wondering if there are salicylate acids in caffeine pills, or if they're more chemically pure and just made up of caffeine or ?? I don't even know if coffee is the source of caffeine for caffeine pills or not, and if not it must be some other plant source at least and so there would still be a possibility of this.

Heck, I don't even know if caffeine is basic or acidic itself. Anyone know? Or have access to high performance liquid chromatography lab equipment to test it or other food samples?

I don't have access to HPLC at the moment, but I do know that caffeine is a weak base. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
