I planning on a set up ware you can get weather and local news over CB automatically.
Using a raspberry pi.
Anyone got advice?

Depends on which "Citizen's Band" you're referring to.

Keep the transmit power under 100 mW, and your transmit antenna no longer than 6 feet. Otherwise, you run the risk of causing harmful interference in the ISM band, which the Class D Citizen's band shares bandwidth.

Avoid transmitting on 26.995, 27.045, 27.095, 27.145 and 27.195 MHz, as these are Class C radio-control channels, and the FCC takes a dim view of voice broadcasts on these frequencies.

For that matter, re-broadcast of copyrighted material (sports, news and weather programming) is a violation of the law, and could result in fines, jail time, and confiscation of all radio equipment on your premises.

Just get a Ham Radio License and you will be happier.

CB is legal in the USA too. With Ham Radio there is no cursing and rudeness. I don't know all the rules of the UK but, I know in the UK you can use up to 400w on the highest License and the biggest thing is you can talk all over the world if things are right. In the US you can Use Antennas of Any size, Towers and Up to 1,500 w.
I have talked all over the US,Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America and Europe. Even parts of Africa, Russia, Suadia Arabia , Australia, New Zealand and even Japan.
