I have a rather old Samsung/AT&T phone (a Samsung Flight II), and I'm having issues getting to my voicemail.

Whenever I try to get to my voicemail, it tells me to press pound (#) if I have a voicemail box. So I press pound (#).

But then it tells me that I need to enter a mailbox number specified by the system manager.

That's where the problem is. I was never given a mailbox number, and I don't know who the system manager is! My parents bought the phone from a store, but they don't know what to do, either.

Is anyone here a phone expert? If so, please help!

This phone is stupid. I hope my contract runs out soon so that I can get another one.

I am definitely no phone expert either, but I would think the service provider would be able to help you. Ring whatever the number is on your phone bill, and ask them. Sometimes you have to set these things up.
Good luck.

Now to obtain the phone bill from my parents...

What provider?

If you dial your own number from your phone and don't reach a voice mail prompt then it may be worth following up with customer care to verify that they have a voice mail box configured for your DID.

The 'System Manager' in this case would be the provider.

Samsung flight II is an AT&T phone correct?

Assuming you are on a family plan, ask if you can borrow someone elses, (family member) phone and dial 6-1-1 from their phone.
Thats direct to AT&T support.
Enter YOUR phone number when prompted, then there should be an option for voice calling and / or voicemail problems.
Been a while since i've used it that way.
