Voice recognition software for disabilities/slurred speech
I'm looking to get a computer for my sister with cerebral palsy. She can't use desktops or laptops because of motor control issues, so I was thinking of getting her a tablet because she would not have to worry about controlling a mouse. It would also help if I could find effective voice recognition software. I know Dragon Dictate is popular, but I'm wondering if that's the best option for someone who slurs and stammers a lot. Is there a company that caters specifically to disabled customers?

I'll keep on looking but this quote is from the Dragon Naturally Speaking 8 website.
Several disabilities can benefit from the use of voice recognition software such as RSIs (repetitive strain injuries), muscle disabilities, and many more. DragonDictate is the only voice recognition software which allows individuals with speech impediments to use voice recognition software successfully. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional is the preferred voice recognition solution for disabilities. Choose the package that best fits your environment.
Here is also a link to a site that lists Assistive Technologies regarding speech impediments.
