Chrome just seems to block any HTTPS sites without a 'trusted' certificate without any possibility to still access it, which is annoying and stupid to say the least (but it's not my main browser, anyway). Of course, why such a popular website as Twitter didn't pay extra to get a proper certificate is another thing...
