I play EverQuest 2 (and some EQ1 and Star Wars Galaxies) online with my PC. Most of the other games I play are console. I don't like FPS and prefer either driving games or adventure/puzzle games like Tomb Raider or Final Fantasy.
Playing in EQ2 (an MMORPG) has really been therapeutic for me, so much so that it pulled me out of a severe (read: nearly terminal) depression. Because you only interact through text and actions, I was able not only to fit in, but to thrive in the community, and gained many in-game friends. I was promoted to officer within the guild, and counted on as a useful team member. I had much better success in the online world than in Real Life, and became the persona of my character, which spilled over into my real life and gave me the confidence I found myself otherwise lacking.
