So, I have an iPod touch and when I sync certain artists onto it they don't show up in the artist directory on the ipod. I can search for them on the iPod and they are there. It's really annoying. Most of the songs have albums, I put an album in the blank space and it does nothing. They are not part of compilations either. I've never had to do this before, it's with the new itunes version (which f*****g sucks). The only thing that worked was for example originally the artist that doesn't show up says 'Alien Sex Fiend'. When I type it as 'The Alien Sex Fiend' it does show up. But this is really annoying too because it's not the proper name of the band. I'm about ready to break my iPod cause I'm getting pissed. If anyone has some solution I would greatly appreciate.

What you're referring to is a widespread issue with the metadata in the files of your music collection. Manually editing all the right details of the tracks and albums in iTunes is the most immediate way of fixing things, just be sure you enter them into the proper fields.

Thanks. I figured out how to do it without putting 'the' infront of every artist. I can just put a space at the end of the name.
