very interesting. i like to feel the sensation of distance above the earth that is hard to fathom in a video that is always at the same height.
i have searched for shuttle cams etc that show the continuous passage into space from take off to orbit (pointing at the ground), but i have found none.
i decided to take the jupiter 2 into space from heathrow at an initial acceleration of 3 g's. the sound fades out as the atmosphere thins.
it helps to convey the immensity (relative to me) of the size of the earth.

Earth is not all that large. There are much larger planets. Even among the rocky exoplanets, Earth is not that big.

To us humans, humans seem like "the fly in the ointment"; but we're so involved; it's difficult to see us from inside.

We could say: "Just another animal, we take what we think we need." or perhaps: "People are like snowflakes?"

we are like snowflakes in that every now and then there is a doppelganger.

Larger exo planets are easier to detect. While there are larger rocky planets out there, it's reasonable to assume that like "our" rocky planets, most of the rocky exo planets are also smaller than the Earth. The largest known rocky planet (Gliese 436 c) has 1.5 times the Earth's radius.

a slightly larger cooler earth might as well be a mirage.
