Is there any way of saving YouTube video clips on your hard disk as Windows Media files?

im currently using this
http://www.orbitdownloader.com/

saves the vids as flash video files but you can always get converters ... pops up a "get this" box over whatever content it can grab - flash content etc.

not tried it on google vids but it works great on youtube

Thanks for the help so far.

Can anyone recommend a free Flash Video Player that lets you play flash video clips on your computer in full screen mode?

http://irfanview.com/ works nicely and can open just about any other media file as well.

I downloaded it and its plugins and it could not play a file with a *.flv extention. Which is how you usually save a video from Youtube as.

There are firefox plugins that do this, I've also found tools on the web that download the video and convert it to mp4.

Here's a site that does it all for you. It might stop working

http://vixy.net/

Search the web there's lots of stuff.

I am pretty sure that Adobe lets you download their Flash player for free. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
