I know this is kinda unusual for this forum, but man is it great!

So, I got one of these a few weeks ago for my weber kettle grill. And I gotta say, it is as good as Alton Brown says. I have NEVER made better barbecue so easily!! !

Yesterday I smoked a 4lb pork shoulder. I took about 8hrs and all I did was check the fire, adding charcoal and wood 3 times (and I really only needed to check it twice). The roast came out perfect!

I've been barbecuing for 20 years and I always wanted to swipe a temp controller and a modulator from work and install it on my smoker to help regulate the fire/temperature by opening/closing the damper--(setting the damper to control the fire is the bane of every would be barbecuer. It takes constant attention to keep the smoker at a proper temp. This sucks all the fun out of an all-day cook!).

But the pitmaster goes one better. It uses an electronic temp controller, but instead of modulating a damper, it uses a fan (think computer cooling fan) to precisely control air flow and, consequently, the temp within +/- 5 degrees!

If you have any interest in cooking real 'low and slow' barbecue, this is an essential tool and a GREAT GADGET.
