Anyone here who is not "facebooking"? Kidding aside, I wanted to help a friend who currently operates her own business. She runs several physical stores in Malaysia, Burma, Japan, Ph, India and soon she will invade San Francisco. In line with her expansion, she asked me to do some business with her. Actually, it's more of helping her out in marketing her products. And since we are not living in the same country, I offered her to run an online store and I could perhaps help her thru internet marketing. As we all know, a lot are doing business online and most of them are now doing social media marketing especially at Instagram. Follow us, Like us, Pin it...and more! So, now my question is...aside from Social Media, are there other similar options I can do or we can consider in helping her online store boost its popularity? I wanted to give her like 3 marketing options. If you can suggest 2 more then that would really, really be great. Thanks!

Well, my suggestion is a bit old-school, but I think there is still a place for physical marketing too, such as making up a batch of business cards, A4 flyers, and postcard-sized cards, and literally putting them in neighborhood doors, under car windshield wipers, on telephone poles and on noticeboards such as those on a campus, or in a store if it has one for the community.

These days social media is definitely the strongest way to go, but old fashioned local flyers and such can garner local interest in either a physical store or an online store.

BirdInFlight, hi there! Thank you for your sharing your thoughts. Yes, a bit old-school that would most people are still practicing that marketing strategy. I will let her know that. Yes, I agree, social media is so far the most popular way to market a business and we will definitely be doing that very soon. Thank you once again. And for those who have time to read this and interested in sharing your opinions, feel free and I'll come back to check on your replies. Good day to y'all!

Of course you should have your own website. Almost every business existing nowadays has their own website, right? Recently our office hired the services of Webmarketing123 for their SEO services, if i'm not mistaken they create business websites too. Check them online if you like.

We're considering an SEO company to help us manage our site and promote it. I think they help promote via social media as well. My friend hasn't called them yet for a quote but she said she will next week. What do you think?
