It's now official, the UK High Court has overturned key copyright law, making iTunes (including iTunes Match) and other software and services illegal.

There is the why:

Quote:
"It is now unlawful to make private copies of copyright works you own, without permission from the copyright holder – this includes format shifting from one medium to another," a spokesperson told the site.

Any software that allows the ripping of CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and other formats is know illegal in the UK.

So then...

The term "fair use" has no meaning in UK law?

I'm surprised.

I mean, people BUY digital music off iTunes. It's not like they're stealing.

Who in the world convinced the courts that iTunes was bad? Nobody was losing any money.

You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

What would these results mean? Been told here I must be a "half pint".

well, this is how spotify steals itunes' market share; streaming isn't making copies, and now the only way to listen to music legally, according to this new law: over-the-air radio or streaming services
