I recently bought a new mp3 player and it says in the description on Amazon it is imported. I'm assuming that when it says in the description imported (Hong Kong) it means where it was made because it also says it ships in the U.S. as well as internationally. I'm confused!

Hello,

An item like this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Lonve-Black-Playe ... B00SASFN4M

Yeah, sometimes in the marketplace, the seller specifies if the item sold is imported or not, and there are also chances that the seller is not operating from the US, but ships worldwide.

I would question the real capacity of the device, as very cheap mp3/mp4 players tend to have a hacked storage capacity, even if it is not eBay.

Furthermore, if you have an old smartphone that takes MicroSD Memory, download a music player app, and repurpose the old phone as your MP3 player. I have a nearly 4 year old phone loaded with a 32GB card that I use for this purpose. You have more options doing this, you're not buying extra electronics that you don't need, and you are keeping an piece of electronics out of a landfill for at least a couple more years.
