I want to determine whether the file on this page has a virus.

https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0BxgxYnZO ... t=download

According to VirusTotal it is clean.

Probably not. I'd recommend Avast for something like that. If you REALLY need it I can send a secure replacement copy of Space Cadet Pinball. Important stuff...

I remember that game, used to spend hours with my brother playing it on our old Pentium II.

Antivirus software isn't very effective these days because of how fast new viruses and malware are created. Treat it like inoculation: it prevents infection from known diseases, but won't protect against new ones.

If antivirus software says something is clean, it just means that it was unable to detect anything it knows of. It may still contain something dangerous but currently unknown.

You're right to be careful. There is no tool that will keep you 100% safe.

A fact which I find immensely frustrating, as script-kiddie-wanna-be* :P

I mean how much do you have to know to ever feel safe?!?! :wall:

*It would take me years to get as advanced as a script-kiddie :|

Due to the amount of well-known virus scanners, and spyware/adware scanners, it does work well, (BTW I've used that before, that link is safe.)
